HOUSING REHABILITATIONAssistance Program

The Housing Rehabilitation Program provides major and minor repairs for qualifying Native American homeowners throughout the Cherokee Nation's Reservation.

Eligibility

    • The applicant must be a member of a federally recognized tribe.
    • Preference is given to Cherokee Nation tribal citizens who are elderly, disabled, or handicapped. 
    • The home must be located within the Cherokee Nation.
    • The home must be the homeowner's primary residence and must be legally owned and recorded in the applicant's name.
    • The family income cannot exceed 50% of the national median income guidelines.
    • Other eligibility requirements apply according to the Housing Rehabilitation Program Policy.
